I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology at the University of Mazandaran , Iran. My research interests lie in the domain of human-centered AI with a focus on explainable AI, trustworthy AI, and human-AI interaction. My additional research interests include communication efficiency in Federated Learning (FL) and robutst FL in heterogeneous environment.

Prior to this, I was a Senior Researcher at Nokia from 2020 to 2024 and before that, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki where I worked with Professor Arto Klami in the Multi-Source Probabilistic Inference group . I completed my PhD in the Probabilistic Machine Learning group under supervision of Professor Samuel Kaski in 2019. My doctoral research focused on developing human-in-the-loop machine learning methods with particular emphasis on knowledge elicitation, probabilistic modeling, and active learning. My PhD thesis is available here . After completing my PhD and before beginning my postdoctoral research, I joined Sony AI in Tokyo as a Visiting Researcher, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with Michael Spranger and other outstanding researchers.
